Classes have resumed already. Settling into the new apartment. The weather here has been pretty hot and humid, but today was cooler due to the thunderstorm the night before. Here's a few shots of what I see out my window.
That's how much time is remaining between now and my last final of my first year of dental school. 11 days to be exact. Although I should be studying, I decided to take a break and ramble on Xanga for a bit since it's been awhile since I last posted.
Summer plans so far: - June 5th go back to the Bay Area - June 11th-19th go to Seattle to visit family - June 19th-July 6th ??? - July 7th back to NYC - July ??? hang out with Victor if he's able to put it in his schedule.
As Todd would say, "Oh my sheeba!" Why is it that when I keyword, "ACA MA" into Youtube this is what I find. The organization that provided the setting for my most memorable moments of undergrad, and this is the remains of its legacy on the internet?!? I'm speechless. Pretty nice shot to the face though. I hope she was ok afterwards, but as Ben would say "BFD!"
Today was honestly one of the most beautiful days I have experienced in New York since I've arrived here. The sun was out. It was a comfortable 74 degrees with a nice slight breeze and blue skies. The only problem was that I needed to study for the oncoming onslaught of exams. Practical exam on Class II cavity preparation on mandibular first molar and an organ systems exam on Tuesday.
The 2nd Annual Oral Cancer Walk was held today at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem, NY. It was a beautiful day today and a blast to participate in the walk. There was a good turnout. I would estimate several hundred. Of course the bulk of the participants were from NYUCD, but there were other Dental schools represented there. Columbia Dental, Tufts, and UPenn students were also there. It was a 4mile walk/run. I originally planned to just walk, but I started off jogging and decided to see how far I could get. I actually did better than I expected. I ran off the trail on accident a couple times because I didn't take a look at the route map prior to the walk, but I looped back onto the correct course.
Running's not quite as bad as I remember it. I think I might start trying to do more running, and hopefully more frequent workouts. Then today, I went to practice for the annual talent show. Then I went to K-town for the Korean Student Dental Association (KSDA). That was good times. I had my veggie bibimbap, and "some" soju. I'll post pictures when I have a chance.
